We completed a study of consolidation with the Town of Mamaroneck Fire District. The study found that consolidation was a feasible and desirable course of action. We hand-delivered a leaflet to the residents explaining why we thought the planwas unworkable, expensive and dangerous. The Fire Council completed a cost analysis showing that the paid chief plan would cost $327,000 more annually than it would cost to management the fire department like the Town of Mamaroneck Fire District. We advocated merger with the TMFD as a better plan. We presented a 10-point set of alternatives to the Mayor and Trustees, which was ignored.
